DAYCARE & OSC
The early years in a child’s life are important for brain development and set the basis for competence and coping skills that affect learning, behaviors and health throughout life. Our daycare program philosophy is reflective of these children needs.
The goals of The Champions Academy are simple: to operate in a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment that facilitates the healthy growth of the child. We will focus on meeting every child’s physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. Our program is based on the interests of the children, so activities are planned accordingly.
The role of the teacher at The Champions Academy is to support the children in loving, safe and nurturing manner creating an environment that is warm and welcoming.
The health and well-being of a child does not end as they walk out the door of daycare – it is also dependent upon the health and well being of the home and family life.
To support the all-round development of the child, we aim to form relationships between the school, family and community. As such, family involvement is essential to the children’s collective success and well being.
The Champions Academy is open year round 7:00am – 6:00 pm Monday – Friday. The Centre is closed on statutory holidays. Notices of closure days will be posted on the parent information board.
The academy parking lot is located on the west side of the building near the back entrance. Families are invited to park in the marked stalls. Parking in front of the entrance is permitted for no more than 15 minutes.
Our team consists of a group of individuals who are passionate about creating authentic learning experiences for children in a challenging, discovery-oriented environment.
All employees of The Champions Academy hold a minimum certification of a Child Development Assistant as required by Provincial Staff Qualifications, as well are required to submit a Criminal Record Check; including a vulnerable sector search; dated not earlier than 6 months prior to the date of commencement. A valid standard child care first aid & CPR certificate must be presented by all staff within 3 months of employment.
The Champions Academy employees are committed to their own learning and growth as early childhood educators, thus actively participating in ongoing professional development opportunities. Our collective experiences, education, knowledge, and quest for quality early childhood education is the foundation on which The Champions Academy is built.

In addition to the primary 4 core child development philosophy; there are fully mandated other daycare program support policies and philosophies. All the support policies and philosophies help to ensure the proper care of children at all times.
An example of philosophy is parent-academy relationship. The examples of work policies are parking policies, hand washing procedure, health policy, food and menu policy etc.
All these details are available in our parent’s handbook. We invite you to come and visit our daycare center on Calgary Trail.
